Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde praised the Supreme Court's decision to halt the acquittal of 12 accused in the 2006 Mumbai train bomb blasts case by the Bombay High Court.

The initial verdict, delivered by a special bench of the Bombay High Court, had ruled that the prosecution failed to prove its case, leading to the acquittal. However, the Supreme Court's intervention ensures that the accused remain free but stops the verdict from becoming a legal precedent.

Shinde applauded the swift action of the state government and highlighted the continued commitment to holding the perpetrators accountable for the devastating blasts that claimed over 180 lives. He commended the Solicitor General for representing the government's stance effectively.
