Pakistan's Supreme Court has deferred the bail hearing for former Prime Minister Imran Khan until August 12, in connection with the violence cases from May 9. The decision comes after the Lahore High Court previously dismissed Khan's bail appeals.

Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is implicated in several cases in Lahore related to the May 9, 2023, violence—including accusations of inciting supporters to target government and military buildings following his arrest by paramilitary forces.

The Supreme Court bench, consisting of Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui, granted an adjournment as Khan's defense counsel, represented by Barrister Salman Akram Raja, requested additional time due to lead counsel Salman Safdar's absence abroad. Proceedings will continue in the second week of August.
