A Ukrainian air force officer has been arrested on charges of espionage for aiding Russia by leaking critical information on the location of F-16 and Mirage 2000 fighter jets. Officials say the officer, whose identity remains undisclosed, was a major and flight instructor.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) stated that the officer is accused of providing Russian military intelligence with coordinates and strategic advice for potentially devastating air strikes. Specifically, Russian forces prioritized airfields hosting F-16s, Mirages, and Su-24s.
Allegations suggest the suspect also shared data on Ukrainian air force personnel and combat tactics, endangering the security of Western-supplied fighter aircraft. This marks a significant breach as Ukraine relies heavily on these aircraft to defend against Russian advances.
