Security Operations Yield Success with Arrest of Six Naxalites in Chhattisgarh

Six Naxalites were arrested in Sukma and Bijapur districts of Chhattisgarh during anti-Naxal operations. Among them was Podiyam Nanda, a militia commander with a bounty on his head. Explosives and Maoist items were seized amidst coordinated efforts by the local police, DRG, and CRPF.

In an extensive operation, Chhattisgarh police successfully arrested six Naxalites from Sukma and Bijapur districts, authorities announced on Saturday. Notable among the captured was Podiyam Nanda, a 40-year-old militia commander, who was detained in the Sukma district.

The arrest followed a coordinated sweep involving the District Reserve Guard, local police, and Central Reserve Police Force battalions. They seized two tiffin bombs, detonators, and other explosive materials from Nanda and his associates, who were cornered in the forests of Rabdipara village.

Meanwhile, in Bijapur, three lower-ranking Maoist members were apprehended along with Maoist paraphernalia. Among the captured detainees were Sukki Hemla, Soma Uika, and Kallu Hapka, suspected of previous engagements with security forces. This marks a significant accomplishment for law enforcement in the area plagued by Naxal activities.
