A judicial commission has found former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao culpable for alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, a venture initiated during the previous BRS regime, sources disclosed on Monday.
During a state cabinet meeting at the Secretariat, State Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy delivered a presentation summarizing the commission's findings, which pointed to Rao's direct and indirect involvement in the project's irregularities across its various phases, according to sources.
The commission also highlighted former irrigation minister T Harish Rao's involvement. Experts had reportedly advised against the Kaleshwaram project, but the BRS regime allegedly suppressed these recommendations. The report, comprising 665 pages, was summarized into a 60-page document, which repeatedly cited KCR, Harish Rao, and former minister Eatala Rajender, revealing negligence during their tenures.
