The Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal against the Bombay High Court's ruling, which quashed the FIR against nine individuals related to the suicide of ex-Lok Sabha MP Mohan Delkar in 2021. The High Court's decision to annul the case was made on September 8, 2022.
Delkar's tragic demise, discovered in a Mumbai hotel, prompted the FIR. His alleged suicide note accused various influential figures of intimidation and harassment, leading to police action. Among those named in the FIR was Praful Khoda Patel, the administrator of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman, and Diu.
On August 4, a bench comprised of Chief Justice B R Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran reserved their ruling, which ultimately aligned with the High Court's verdict, upholding their previous decision.
