Coffin Mix-Up: Grieving Family Receives Wrong Body

A family from Mulising village in Odisha's Balasore district has been embroiled in a harrowing case of mistaken identity.

They received the wrong body due to a labeling mishap on a coffin dispatched from Bengaluru.

The deceased, Rakesh Shaw, 21, tragically lost his life to electrocution on August 15 while working in the city. His body, alongside another deceased individual from Siliguri, West Bengal, was transported in the same ambulance for delivery. However, an error at the dispatch stage saw the incorrect sticker affixed to his coffin, leading to a mix-up that was only rectified when the mistake was discovered at the Mulising family's home.

The family promptly contacted the company responsible for the dispatch, resulting in the ambulance being redirected midway to ensure the correction. This incident highlights the critical importance of meticulous attention to detail in sensitive logistics.
