Iran and IAEA Set for Another Round of Nuclear Talks Amid Tensions
Iran is set to continue negotiations with the U.N. nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, amid ongoing tensions. Iranian officials assert that despite halts in cooperation following attacks on its nuclear sites, dialogues will persist. Iran remains committed to the Non-Proliferation Treaty while suspending certain IAEA collaboration.
In a continuing diplomatic effort, Iran is poised to engage in further discussions with the United Nations nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the country's Foreign Ministry spokesperson confirmed on Monday. The talks are set to resume despite previous halts following the bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities by Israel and the United States in June.
During a televised conference, Esmaeil Baghaei articulated Tehran's dissatisfaction with a prior IAEA report, which allegedly facilitated these attacks. However, he emphasized that Iran's relationship with the agency remains direct and ongoing, despite changes following recent events.
The legislative restrictions imposed by Iran restrict IAEA inspections, requiring approval from Tehran's Supreme National Security Council, yet the country maintains its dedication to peaceful nuclear development in alignment with the Non-Proliferation Treaty commitments.
