Activist's Allegations Spotlight Dharmasthala Controversy

Activist Mahesh Shetty Timarody, noted for raising serious allegations about multiple killings in Dharmasthala, made an appearance before the Belthangady police on Wednesday. He was connected to several registered cases, law enforcement confirmed.

Timarody and 17 others, including Girish Mattannanavar, were summoned over charges of unlawful assembly, assaulting mediapersons, and making derogatory statements against the press. Despite being asked to arrive by 10 am, he reported only by 5 pm, officials noted.

Separate complaints against him include incidents involving unauthorized gatherings, assaults on journalists, and negative remarks about the media. Leading a campaign alleging multiple murders in Dharmasthala, his actions have prompted extensive media coverage and political discourse, although the SIT investigation has yet to substantiate these claims.
