In a significant move to strengthen diplomatic ties, Pakistan and China have committed to enhancing their strategic partnership across critical sectors, including industrial and agricultural. This decision was made during the 6th Strategic Dialogue held in Islamabad, where Foreign Ministers Ishaq Dar of Pakistan and Wang Yi of China discussed bilateral relations.
Key topics included the advancement of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, trade, and economic relations. Wang Yi assured support for Pakistan's economic resilience and highlighted the focus on high-quality development of CPEC. The ministers underscored the importance of their partnership for regional peace and stability.
The meeting also included updates on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's upcoming visit to China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, which will formally launch CPEC-II. The dialogues emphasized mutual cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts and regional issues, emphasizing China's humanitarian aid for flood relief in Pakistan.
