Uttar Pradesh Police Clamp Down on Cow Slaughter and Cattle Smuggling

The Uttar Pradesh Police announced the registration of 699 cases of alleged cow slaughter and 1,200 cases of alleged cattle smuggling from January 1 to August 31, 2024. These efforts led to the arrests of a combined total of 4,988 individuals, with 1,107 surrendering in court.
The police underscored their commitment to curbing illegal activities, applying stringent actions against repeat offenders. Property valued at over Rs 19 crore was confiscated under the Gangster Act, alongside measures such as invoking the National Security Act and opening history sheets on hundreds of suspects.
This aggressive legal approach exemplifies Uttar Pradesh's resolve in tackling cow-related offenses, highlighting the broader intent to dismantle illegal cattle trading networks across the state.
