China has chosen not to comment on US President Donald Trump's new H-1B visa fee, while simultaneously extending an invitation to global professionals to work in the country. The move coincides with China's introduction of the K-Visa, designed to attract young science and technology talent, with more flexible work opportunities.

China is staying silent on US President Donald Trump's recent decision to implement a hefty USD 100,000 fee on H-1B visas, but is actively inviting global professionals to seek employment within its borders. A new employment visa, set to roll out next month, will offer fresh opportunities to international talent.

Last week, the Trump administration announced this significant visa fee, a one-time payment required on submission of a new H-1B application. While Beijing has refrained from commenting directly on this policy, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun emphasized the value of cross-border talent in fostering global technological and economic progress.

The forthcoming K-Visa aims to attract young professionals in science and technology without requiring an invitation from a domestic entity in China. The State Council's recent approval of this visa underscores China's strategy to draw international talent into various sectors.
