Clashes in Geneva: Flotilla Supporters Face Off with Police

On Friday, Swiss police reported that five officers sustained injuries during clashes with protesters in Geneva. The demonstration, which initially gathered around 3,000 people in support of the Gaza flotilla intercepted by Israel, turned violent as it approached a city bridge.

Pro-Gaza protests, though uncommon in Switzerland, are gaining momentum, following Israel's blockade of the flotilla. Demonstrations have sparked not only in Geneva but also in Zurich, Bern, Italy, and Colombia.

Authorities used tear gas and water cannons to disperse protesters who were reportedly throwing objects and causing damage. The flotilla, blocked by Israeli forces, included over 450 activists and aimed to deliver aid to Gaza.
