China Challenges Mexico's Anti-Dumping Actions
China is closely observing Mexico's anti-dumping investigations into its products, urging compliance with World Trade Organisation norms. The recent surge in Mexico's investigations reflects growing trade tensions, amidst accusations of protectionism. Meanwhile, China has launched its own probe into Mexico's proposed tariffs and restrictions.
China is closely observing Mexico's ongoing anti-dumping investigations concerning Chinese products, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce on Friday. The ministry urges Mexico to adhere to World Trade Organisation guidelines during this process.
The investigations, initiated by Mexico's Ministry of Economy at the request of domestic enterprises, target products such as float glass and PVC-coated fabric. Eleven inquiries have been launched against Chinese goods this year, reflecting an increase from last year.
China's commerce ministry has also initiated its own investigations into Mexico's intended tariff hikes, drawing attention to escalating global trade tensions, further intensified by Mexico's decision to raise automotive tariffs in response to U.S. pressures.
