Tinubu's Strategic Military Shake-up: New Service Chiefs Appointed

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has announced a significant overhaul of the country's military leadership, appointing new service chiefs in a bid to enhance national security.
The reorganization sees General Olufemi Oluyede named as Chief of Defence Staff, succeeding General Christopher Musa. Additionally, Major-General W. Shaibu has been appointed as Chief of Army Staff, Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke as Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral I. Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff.
Amid ongoing security challenges such as Islamist insurgencies, armed banditry, and separatist unrest, Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye retains his position as Chief of Defence Intelligence, with all appointments taking immediate effect, according to the presidency's statement.
