In a significant stride towards sustainable governance, India's special cleanliness campaign has generated an impressive Rs 387 crore in revenue from the disposal of scrap. This announcement was made by Union Minister Jitendra Singh during a high-level meeting aimed at reviewing the campaign's progress.
The campaign, which runs from October 2 to 31, signifies a comprehensive approach to melding cleanliness with administrative efficiency and innovative waste-to-wealth solutions. The initiative has already covered 5.57 lakh out of its target of 7.56 lakh sites, marking significant progress in transforming waste management into a national ethos.
Highlighted initiatives include AIIMS' recycling of bio-laboratory waste and the conversion of used cooking oil into fuel.
