Former BJP MLA Subhash Guttedar and his son Harsha Guttedar have approached the Special Court for People's Representatives seeking anticipatory bail in the high-profile 'Vote Chori' case. The case pertains to alleged illegal voter list deletions in the Aland assembly constituency before the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections.
The Special Public Prosecutor requested time to file objections to the bail plea, resulting in the hearing being deferred to Thursday. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) involved in the case has already issued a notice to both Guttedar and his son and is currently questioning Harsha Guttedar regarding the allegations.
The controversy revolves around purportedly politically motivated voter deletions, aimed at influencing election outcomes. Local Congress leaders filed complaints, accusing Subhash Guttedar and associates of conspiracy to manipulate electoral rolls, prompting an ongoing police investigation.
