The Karnataka government has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling corruption head-on, with Home Minister G Parameshwara declaring no leniency on bribery allegations in any department, including the police.
This statement comes in response to retired Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd CFO Sivakumar K, who alleged he was coerced into bribing officials at various stages following his daughter's brain haemorrhage-related death.
The officers involved have been suspended, demonstrating the state's rigorous approach. Parameshwara emphasized that both he and CM Siddaramaiah are steadfast in eradicating bribery through immediate and severe actions.
