Two men charged with the murder of their neighbor have been acquitted by a district court, which ruled that the victim died of natural causes. The decision, delivered by Judge S B Agrawal, stated that the prosecution failed to prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.

The case centered on an alleged incident on October 8, 2020, in Mumbra. The prosecution claimed a dispute over carpentry dust led to an assault that caused the death of Gulam Rasool Jamil Haq Shaikh. However, the court highlighted the lack of independent witness support and medical evidence showing the victim died of a heart attack.

In his judgment, Judge Agrawal noted that a minor quarrel had been escalated unnecessarily. With little evidence supporting the prosecution's narrative, the court found both Gufran Yusufali Ansari and Shahnawaz Mohammed Shafi Ansari not guilty, emphasizing the case's overblown nature due to the heart attack occurring shortly after the incident.
