Suicide Bombers Strike Pakistani Paramilitary HQ
Three suicide bombers attacked the headquarters of a Pakistani paramilitary force in Peshawar, killing three personnel and injuring at least five. The attackers breached the compound's security before detonating explosives. Authorities suspect more militants might still be within the complex, prompting an ongoing investigation.
Three suicide bombers launched a deadly attack on the headquarters of a Pakistani paramilitary force in Peshawar on Monday, leaving three personnel dead and at least five others injured, according to authorities.
Officials reported that the assailants opened fire while storming the frontier constabulary's headquarters before they detonated explosives inside the building, killing three paramilitary personnel. Deputy Commandant Javed Iqbal confirmed the casualty figures.
Security forces, including the army and police, have cordoned off the area, as they suspect the presence of additional assailants inside the complex. The attack takes place amid rising tensions and attacks by Islamist militants in the region following last month's border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan, with Pakistan implicating Afghan Taliban support for these militants, an accusation Kabul disputes.
