The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against Vishal Singh, also known as Suraj, from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Singh is accused of participating in efforts by the banned CPI (Maoist) to regain influence in northern states.
The chargesheet, submitted to a Lucknow court, marks Singh as the second individual charged in this ongoing investigation. The case centers around the activities of the CPI (Maoist), including leaders and overground workers, who aim to reinvigorate the organization in states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh.
NIA's findings indicate that Singh spent time in the Chhakarbandha/Pachrukhiya forest training cadres on drone usage and held meetings with senior CPI (Maoist) figures. His training efforts are considered significant in the organization's attempts to re-establish itself as a force in the region.
