Heightened Security Measures for Upcoming Palghar Municipal Elections
Security measures have been intensified for the upcoming municipal council and nagar panchayat elections in Palghar, Maharashtra. Officials have ensured the deposition of licensed weapons and deployed extensive police forces and Home Guards to maintain order during the polling and vote count on December 2.

Security has been heightened as Palghar District in Maharashtra prepares for its upcoming municipal council and nagar panchayat elections scheduled for December 2. An official confirmed the increased measures on Sunday.
According to an administrative directive, a substantial number of licensed weapons have been deposited. In Palghar, 114 out of 118 weapons are in custody, while Dahanu has deposited 47, Jawhar 27, and Wada 123.
A robust security deployment will be in place for polling and vote counting, featuring senior police officers, an assembly of 424 police personnel, 240 Home Guards, three RCP platoons, two State Reserve Police Force detachments, and seven reserve strikers/SDPOs.
