Jharkhand Orders Safety Audit After Goa Fire Tragedy

In response to a Goa nightclub fire that resulted in 25 deaths, the Jharkhand government has initiated a comprehensive safety audit of bars, restaurants, hotels, and hospitals. Health Minister Irfan Ansari emphasized accountability and urged Prime Minister Modi to compensate affected families.

The Jharkhand government has taken decisive action following a tragic nightclub fire in North Goa that claimed 25 lives. On Sunday, it mandated a safety audit of all bars, restaurants, hotels, and hospitals within the state, demanding a thorough report from district authorities within a week.

Health and Disaster Management Minister Irfan Ansari stated that the administration, under Chief Minister Hemant Soren, will not tolerate negligence. He highlighted the need for stringent kitchen hygiene, periodic technical inspections, and functional fire safety equipment to prevent similar incidents.

Expressing sorrow for the three Jharkhand natives who perished in the Goa fire, Ansari called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for financial aid to the victims' families and urged the Goa government to enhance tourist safety. He also pledged state-level assistance to support Jharkhand families affected by the disaster.
