In a robust display of enhanced border security, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, and BSF have intensified joint search operations along the International Border (IB) in the districts of Kathua, Samba, and Jammu. Accompanied by sniffer dogs, these efforts aim to fortify defenses against possible infiltration activities, officials reported on Tuesday.
Teams comprising BSF troops, sniffer dogs, and the police's Special Operations Group (SOG) conducted extensive searches in areas adjacent to the IB. Key locales include Ganjansoo, Marh, and Domana in Jammu; Nadala, Regal, Pangdour, and Galar in Samba; and Khanpur and Pansar in Kathua district. Bomb disposal units bolstered these teams in critical areas, underlining the seriousness of the operation.
High-ranking officials, such as Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, have personally assessed the security apparatus along the border. With a winter strategy in place, the aim is to thwart infiltration attempts by Pakistan-based militants exploiting foggy weather conditions in coming months.
