The Indian government has made significant strides in tackling the Naxal issue, with the major seizure of assets worth Rs 92 crore as part of a coordinated effort by multiple agencies. This move has dealt a heavy blow to the financial capabilities of Naxal groups, according to a government statement released on Saturday.

In its determined campaign to eliminate Naxalism by the deadline of March 2026, the government has seen successes with only three districts remaining heavily afflicted compared to 36 back in 2014. As per the latest statistics, 317 Naxals have been neutralized this year, while hundreds have either been arrested or surrendered.

Beyond military efforts, there has been a parallel drive to develop infrastructure in affected zones, including extensive road construction, improved mobile connectivity, and bolstered banking facilities. These measures have contributed to a significant drop in Naxal violence and enhanced quality of life for residents in these areas.
