FBI Increases Reward to $1 Million for Fugitive Bhadreshkumar Patel

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has significantly increased the reward to $1 million for information leading to the arrest of Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel, an Indian national wanted for allegedly murdering his wife in Maryland in 2015. Patel, now 35, has been on the run since the crime, with his last known whereabouts in Newark, New Jersey.

The tragic incident occurred when Patel's wife, Palak Patel, was fatally struck with an object while they worked at a doughnut shop in Hanover. Patel, subsequently charged with multiple counts of murder and assault, was placed on the FBI's ''Ten Most Wanted Fugitives'' list.

Investigators suggest Patel may have fled to Canada or could be residing with distant relatives in the U.S. Special Agent Jonathan Shaffer believes Patel's motive may relate to a disagreement over Palak's desire to return to India. Despite the long passage of time, the FBI continues its search, warning that Patel is armed and extremely dangerous.
