In a crucial development ahead of Kerala's Assembly polls, police have launched an investigation into the illegal distribution of household kits in Thrissur.

An Election Flying Squad intercepted the unauthorized activity near Olari Parthasarathy Temple just days before the April 9 elections. The raid uncovered 26 kits valued at Rs 900, filled with household items.

The operation, allegedly instructed by Radhakrishnan, saw 75 kits distributed before authorities arrived. Violations include bribery under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and corrupt practices under the Representation of the People Act.
