Assassination Attempt Unveils New Charges
The U.S. Justice Department has added an assault charge to the case against Cole Allen, accused of attempting to assassinate President Trump. Allen allegedly fired at a Secret Service agent and now faces a four-count indictment including attempted assassination and firearm-related charges.
The U.S. Justice Department has intensified its legal actions against Cole Allen, bringing a new charge of assault on a federal officer with a deadly weapon. This comes in connection with an alleged assassination attempt on President Donald Trump.
Allen is accused of firing at a Secret Service agent while trying to breach security at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, leading to the new four-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Washington.
The suspect, carrying a shotgun and a pistol, was previously facing charges including attempted assassination, use of a firearm during a violent crime, and illegal firearm transportation across state lines.
