Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Friday said that ''Operation Sindoor had enhanced the nation's pride'' and added that the government's uncompromising stance against terrorism would continue. Seth visited Pangode Military Station and interacted with officers and soldiers stationed there. Brigadier Anurag Upadhyay, Station Commander, along with commanding officers and soldiers from the Madras Regiment and the Garhwal Regiment, attended the function, according to a Defence release. Addressing the officers and soldiers at Pangode, the minister said the concept of Atma-Nirbhar Bharat would be implemented across all sectors, including defence production. The nation is striving to achieve the vision of the PM to become Viksit Bharat by 2047, he said. The services of the Army during disasters reflect its dedication to the nation, the minister said. Pangode Military Station is the only amphibious formation of the Indian Army and is a truly inspiring establishment, Seth added. ''Today, our goal is not only to protect our borders but also to prepare ourselves for future challenges-whether they are conventional warfare, hybrid warfare, or complexities related to maritime and coastal security. In this direction, amphibious capability plays a very important role,'' the minister said. Seth witnessed a demonstration of amphibious operations carried out by the Madras Regiment. The station commander briefed him on the roles and capabilities of the troops. The ability to operate with equal efficiency both in water and on land is not only a symbol of technical excellence but also a reflection of your courage, discipline, and extraordinary dedication, Seth said. The minister assured that soldiers will be provided with the best resources, training, and facilities so that they can carry out their duties more effectively for the nation. In response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 last year, carrying out airstrikes on nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
