INS Sunayna arrives in Bangladesh's Chattogram Port during multinational deployment
Indian Naval Ship INS Sunayna has arrived at Bangladeshs Chattogram Port on a two-day visit as part of the IOS Indian Ocean Ship SAGAR 2026 deployment. On its second deployment, IOS Sagar is crewed by personnel of IOR partner countries representing 17 nationalities, including Bangladesh cooperating, training and learning together, the High Commission of India in Bangladesh posted on social media on Friday.
Indian Naval Ship (INS) Sunayna has arrived at Bangladesh's Chattogram Port on a two-day visit as part of the IOS (Indian Ocean Ship) SAGAR 2026 deployment. The visit aims to further strengthen maritime cooperation and professional ties between the Indian Navy and the Bangladesh Navy. ''On its second deployment, IOS Sagar is crewed by personnel of IOR partner countries representing 17 nationalities, including Bangladesh; cooperating, training and learning together,'' the High Commission of India in Bangladesh posted on social media on Friday. The Bangladesh Navy's band played traditional music to welcome the ship, with a representative from the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh present on the occasion, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported. ''IOS Sagar's visit to Chattogram continued with a Reception hosted by COMCHIT(Commander Chattogram Naval Area),'' the Indian mission posted on Saturday. Commanding Officer (CO) of INS Sunayna called on Cmde Ahamed Amin Abdullah, Officiating Chairman Chattogram Port Authority. The CO expressed gratitude for the support given by Chattogram Port to the ship, it said. He also visited Chattogram Commonwealth War Cemetery and laid a wreath in remembrance of the ultimate sacrifice made by the soldiers of undivided India and the Commonwealth during the Second World War, it added.
