Authorities in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district have unearthed a substantial cache of explosives and weapons purportedly concealed by Maoists, police revealed on Monday.
The discovery occurred Sunday evening within an underground bunker on a hilly terrain near Dodi Tumnar village, spurred by a tip-off, according to an official statement.
The seizure, which included a makeshift grenade launcher and various explosive materials, underscores intensified efforts to eradicate remaining Maoist threats in the region following the state’s declaration of liberation from armed Maoist activity in March.
