Controversy Erupts in J&K Over Snake Killing

In Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, a man faces allegations of killing a snake and broadcasting the incident live on social media. The incident has sparked controversy due to the man's purported offensive comments regarding Hindu gods during the recording.
The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has filed a complaint with the wildlife protection department, demanding legal proceedings under wildlife conservation laws, as the killed snake, according to the VHP, is a rat snake protected by law.
The VHP has also criticized the inaction of wildlife department officials, suggesting they have so far shielded the accused by not taking immediate action. The case is currently under investigation by local authorities.
