The Karnataka government is set to host the 'Pragatiyatta Karnataka' event in Tumakuru on May 19, a significant day marking three years of Congress governance. Home Minister G Parameshwara announced the event will distribute beneficiary letters to 152,000 people, underlining the administration's achievements and commitment to the electorate.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM D K Shivakumar, and Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda will join in showcasing the state's progress. Parameshwara, addressing reporters, dismissed notions of it being a show of strength in his district. He emphasized that the focus is on informing the public about the implementation of government schemes and promises kept.
The event will feature two main components: distribution of letters under the Revenue Department and initiatives related to the conversion of revenue villages. Parameshwara reaffirmed the event's governmental scope, not involving Congress party leaders. Looking ahead, he noted the government's shift towards long-term infrastructure and irrigation projects.
