Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 51st meeting of PRAGATI, the government's ICT-enabled governance and project monitoring platform, where he reviewed major infrastructure projects worth nearly ₹30,000 crore and stressed the need for faster execution, stronger coordination, and mission-mode implementation of national development initiatives.

The high-level meeting, held at Seva Teerth on 27 May 2026, focused on critical infrastructure projects in the:

• Railways sector

• Power sector

• Road infrastructure sector

covering nine states across the country.

The Prime Minister also reviewed progress under:

• Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0

• Ken-Betwa River Linking Project

PRAGATI Platform Driving Faster Governance

PRAGATI — Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation — is a technology-driven platform designed to improve coordination between the Central and State Governments for monitoring:

• Infrastructure projects

• Public grievances

• Flagship schemes

• Administrative bottlenecks

The platform enables direct review of delayed or strategically important projects by the Prime Minister and senior officials.

Officials stated that the reviewed projects are considered vital for:

PM Pushes Rooftop Solar Expansion in Mission Mode

During the review of power sector projects, Prime Minister Modi strongly emphasised accelerating the adoption of rooftop solar systems across urban India.

He directed authorities to take rooftop solar deployment forward in "mission mode" with particular attention to:

• Cities

• Residential colonies

• Public institutions

• Community infrastructure

The Prime Minister highlighted several expected benefits of large-scale rooftop solar adoption, including:

• Lower electricity costs

• Reduced dependence on conventional energy

While reviewing road and port connectivity projects, the Prime Minister stressed that the proposed Vadhavan Port project should be developed as a fully integrated multi-modal logistics ecosystem rather than merely a standalone port facility.

He called for seamless integration with:

• Coastal shipping

• Inland waterways

• Dedicated freight corridors

• High-speed rail networks

• Highway systems

• Airport connectivity

According to the Prime Minister, Vadhavan Port should evolve into:

• A national logistics gateway

Prime Minister Modi warned that project delays lead to:

At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary informed participants that a new system of monthly reviews of social sector schemes at the state level has now been operationalised following directions from the Prime Minister.

The new mechanism aims to improve:

Swachh Bharat Mission has been selected as the first programme for this new review framework.
