In a significant enforcement action, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Thane seized illegal food items, including gutkha and pan masala, valued at Rs 12 lakh. This operation resulted in six arrests.
The raid, carried out under the supervision of FDA commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, saw officials confiscating goods like edible oil, farsan, and toddy, citing breaches of food regulations. Citizens have been encouraged to report any food-related violations through the FDA's toll-free helpline.
