The United Nations is intensifying its efforts to assist Lebanon, doubling its monetary appeal amid escalating regional conflicts.

Lebanon became embroiled in a broader war in March when Hezbollah launched rockets at Israel, spurring a forceful Israeli military response. The ongoing clashes have resulted in over 3,500 Lebanese fatalities.

To tackle the severe humanitarian crisis, the U.N. and Lebanese government will seek an additional $331.5 million, hoping to assist 1.4 million citizens. So far, $185.9 million has been raised, with U.N. officials expressing alarm over the worsening civilian toll.
