Rajasthan Minister Pledges Resignation if BJP Loses Key Seats

Ahead of the June 4 vote count for Lok Sabha elections, Rajasthan minister Kirodi Lal Meena vowed to resign if the BJP loses any of the seven key seats he's responsible for. Meena, who received these critical seat assignments from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, campaigned intensively across eastern Rajasthan.

In a bold declaration ahead of the June 4 Lok Sabha election vote count, Rajasthan minister Kirodi Lal Meena announced his intention to quit his cabinet post should the BJP fail to secure any of the seven pivotal seats under his charge.

Meena, entrusted with this critical mission by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has focused his campaign efforts on seats in eastern Rajasthan, encompassing areas such as Dausa, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Alwar, Tonk-Sawaimadhopur, and Kota-Bundi.

'Before the PM came to Dausa, I had pledged to resign if the seat was lost,' Meena claimed. 'I intensively worked on 11 seats, especially the seven listed by the PM. If even one seat is lost, I will resign and serve water here,' he reaffirmed, while acknowledging potential challenges in Barmer and Churu. Historically, the Congress has not secured a single seat in Rajasthan in the past two Lok Sabha elections, with BJP claiming all seats in 2014 and 2019.
