Senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh minister Kailash Vijayvargiya on Monday predicted that leaders of the opposition INDI alliance will blame Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) after the results of the Lok Sabha polls are announced.
Vijayvargiya noted that these leaders would accuse each other of non-cooperation and escalate tensions, potentially leading to public disputes.
He claimed that senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, who contested from Rajgarh, had already started questioning the integrity of EVMs even before the vote-counting process started on June 4.
'I've been saying from day one that these leaders will speak against EVMs once the results are declared,' Vijayvargiya said. 'They will then blame each other for non-cooperation and escalate tensions.'
Responding to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's comment labeling exit polls as 'Modi media poll,' Vijayvargiya said Gandhi had insulted the media with his statement.
Exit polls have consistently projected a resounding victory for the BJP-led NDA, predicting that Narendra Modi would secure another term as prime minister.
