Narendra Modi is poised to begin his third consecutive term as India's prime minister, with the oath-taking ceremony scheduled for Sunday evening. President Droupadi Murmu has officially invited Modi to form the government following the BJP's electoral triumph and subsequent support from allies.

On Friday, President Murmu appointed Modi as the prime minister-designate after BJP chief J P Nadda presented her with a letter confirming Modi's election as the leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the BJP, secured 293 seats in the Lok Sabha, surpassing the required majority.

The Rashtrapati Bhawan communique stated that President Murmu is satisfied with the support letters received from the NDA, confirming their ability to form a stable government. Modi will be administered the oath of office and secrecy at 7:15 pm on Sunday.
