The third Modi government, formed on Sunday, welcomes 33 fresh faces, at least six from well-established political families, marking a new chapter in Indian politics.

Among the notable entries are three former chief ministers: Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Madhya Pradesh, Manohar Lal Khattar from Haryana, and HD Kumaraswamy from Karnataka. Chouhan, a five-time MP from Vidisha, holds a significant legacy, having represented a constituency once served by notable leaders such as former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. Known for his RSS roots, Khattar previously held the chief ministerial position in Haryana twice but resigned in March following the withdrawal of JJP support.

Additionally, the cabinet includes first-time ministers from BJP allies, like LJP's Chirag Paswan, who won the Hajipur seat previously held by his father Ram Vilas Paswan, and Ram Nath Thakur from JDU, son of former Bihar CM Karpoori Thakur. These new inductees signify a blend of experienced politicians and emerging leaders, reflecting the Modi government's strategic focus on leveraging political legacies.
