Modi Promises Full Statehood and Development for Jammu and Kashmir

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Thursday that preparations are underway for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, promising the restoration of its statehood. This significant announcement came during an event in Srinagar, where Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 84 developmental projects worth Rs 1,500 crore.

Addressing the recent surge in terror attacks, Modi assured the public that the government is taking the situation very seriously. 'I want to assure that we will leave no stone unturned to punish the enemies of Jammu and Kashmir,' he stated. This declaration followed a high-level meeting chaired by the Home Minister to review the security mechanism.

Modi also praised the youth of Jammu and Kashmir for their high voter turnout in the Lok Sabha polls, marking a victory for democracy. He highlighted that the abrogation of Article 370 has fully enabled the implementation of the Indian Constitution in the region, fostering peace and development. 'Today, the Indian Constitution has truly been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir,' Modi reiterated.
