NCP (SP) Slams BJP Over Current 'Emergency Situations'

The Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) accused the BJP of ignoring pressing 'Emergency situations' in the country, while the ruling party focuses on the 1975 Emergency anniversary. In a post on X, NCP (SP) spokesperson Clyde Crasto criticized the BJP over issues such as Manipur violence, NEET paper leaks, and unmet farmer demands.

Crasto highlighted the suffering in Manipur and the failures in the education system, including the NEET paper leak. He further questioned when the BJP would address the agricultural sector's challenges and the high unemployment rate, which is the highest in 45 years.

On June 25, 1975, then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed Emergency, suspending civil liberties and jailing opposition leaders. The Emergency period lasted until 1977. The NCP (SP) insists that the BJP needs to address current issues before dwelling on past events.
