Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for prioritizing past events over future progress. His remarks come as the Centre plans to observe June 25, the anniversary of the 1975 Emergency, as Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas.

Union Minister Amit Shah announced on Friday that the day would be marked to honor those who suffered during the Emergency. However, Raut claimed the current political atmosphere resembles that of the Emergency era, equating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance to those restrictive times.

Raut pointed out issues such as increased government control, rising corruption, and external threats from China. He emphasized that the BJP should focus on future challenges rather than revisiting historical grievances.
