BJP MP Mahendra Singh Solanki from Madhya Pradesh revealed on Friday that he received a death threat call from an unidentified man. The threat was reportedly linked to Solanki's videos on nationalism and Hindutva.
After his complaint, authorities registered a case and launched an investigation. The threat call took place around 11.40 am while Solanki was in a study room at Tilak Nagar. He noted that the caller abused and threatened him when asked for his identity. Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay confirmed that an FIR was registered at the Civil Lines police station.
Police sources suggest the call originated from Kanpur, but the caller's phone is now switched off. Solanki, who transitioned to active politics after serving as a judge, became an MP in 2019 and secured another victory against Congress candidate Rajendra Malviya in this year's election.
