The Opposition on Tuesday unleashed a scathing attack on the Union Budget, branding it a 'kursi bachao budget' motivated by political compulsions and accused it of ignoring opposition-ruled states to appease BJP allies.
The Congress criticized the Budget as being 'more focused on posturing than action,' alleging that the 'copy-paste government' heavily borrowed from their manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections.
This criticism followed Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's budget presentation in the Lok Sabha, which included income tax relief for the middle class, a massive Rs 2 lakh crore allocation for job creation, and substantial financial boosts for BJP-run states.
