Rajya Sabha MP Madan Rathore has been appointed as the new president of the BJP's Rajasthan unit, replacing CP Joshi, ahead of the crucial assembly bypolls. The announcement came in a notice issued on Thursday by BJP national general secretary Arun Singh.
The move is seen as a strategic effort to strengthen the party's support base among the OBCs. Rathore, who brings years of organizational experience, was elected to the Rajya Sabha only five months ago. Prior to this, he has served as the Deputy Chief Whip of the state government from 2013 to 2018.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma congratulated Rathore, expressing confidence in his leadership. Outgoing president CP Joshi also extended his best wishes to Rathore, underlining the party's united front.
