Congress General Secretary, Organisation, K C Venugopal, convened a critical meeting on Monday with senior party leaders from West Bengal to deliberate on multiple issues, including their relationship with the ruling Trinamool Congress in the state.
The discussion involved key figures like West Bengal unit chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, AICC in-charge Ghulam Ahmad Mir, and Pradip Bhattacharya, among others. Venugopal confirmed this engagement by sharing a video clip from the meeting on social media platform X.
The Congress leadership is keen to receive state-level feedback to maintain a balance in their ties with the TMC at both national and state levels. Recent events highlighted this complexity when the state and central Congress displayed differing stances towards TMC. Additionally, suggestions for organizational reformation within the state Congress unit were also solicited during the meeting.
