Union Minister Piyush Goyal Criticizes Rahul Gandhi Over Speech
Union Minister Piyush Goyal criticized Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, stating that the INDI alliance lacks nationalistic thinking and a positive agenda. Goyal accused Gandhi of making baseless claims during his recent speech. The minister highlighted that the economy was in bad shape when the Modi government took charge in 2014.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal launched a scathing critique on Tuesday against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, condemning his speech from the previous day. Goyal claimed that the INDI alliance, under its new name UPA, lacks both nationalistic thought and a constructive agenda for the nation.
Speaking to reporters, Goyal said Gandhi's statements lacked substance and were filled with baseless accusations. He asserted that the economic situation in the country had been dire when the Modi government assumed office in 2014.
Additionally, Goyal noted that Gandhi's speech illustrated the UPA's hollow promises. He pointed out that during its tenure, the UPA failed to implement the legal guarantee for minimum support price (MSP) for farmers, despite frequently raising the issue.
