In a fiery address at the Janandolana event, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar launched a scathing attack on the BJP and JDS, accusing them of rampant corruption and lack of accountability during their tenures. He labeled the parties as the 'father, mother, brother, sister and relative of corruption' and highlighted the state's faith in his leadership, evidenced by Congress winning 135 seats compared to JDS's 19 in the recent elections.
Shivakumar also delved into his ongoing feud with JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy, rebuffing accusations related to the Prajwal Revanna pen drive case and questioning Kumaraswamy's consistency regarding BJP MLA Preetham Gowda's involvement. He also took the BJP to task for maintaining silence on these allegations, while pointing out their own leaders' past misdemeanors.
The Deputy CM dismissed attempts by the opposition to destabilize the Congress government, reiterating its resilient governance under Siddaramaiah and himself. He further accused the BJP of misusing agencies to file cases against Congress leaders and expressed confidence in Congress's resurgence in Karnataka and beyond.
