Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis revealed on Friday that one of the two Rajya Sabha seats, which became vacant after Udayanraje Bhosale and Piyush Goyal's Lok Sabha election, will be allocated to the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party.

BJP's Bhosale and Goyal secured their Lok Sabha seats in recent elections from Satara and Mumbai North, respectively, leaving their Rajya Sabha positions vacant. Fadnavis stated that while one Rajya Sabha seat will remain with the BJP, the parliamentary board will soon make a decision regarding the other seat, which is likely to go to Ajit Pawar's faction.

In related news, Fadnavis criticized the Congress party for its opposition to the Wakf (Amendment) Bill, which was recently introduced in the Lok Sabha. He accused the Congress of aiming to grab Wakf land and claimed that the bill's opposition is rooted in a desire to avoid transparency.
